Creating an e-portfolio

    Right from the start it seemed like creating a central place to keep useful links and information about mentoring was a good idea. However, as someone who had just come through the early stages of the pandemic where every day my inbox was overloaded with links and new websites, I did not want my e-portfolio to be just another dumping ground for links that I would rarely re-visit or never use. 

    So I tried to go carefully. I tried to only put in things that inspired me, like the shared foundations in the AASL Standards, or things that were new to me, like the Danielson Framework documents, or things that I thought would be most useful to a new librarian in this time, like the documents about what other schools and librarians are doing during the pandemic. 

    Some things aren't in the e.portfolio that might be surprising for their absence. For example, you won't find a link to Laurie's Calendar for Mentors because I printed that out right away and put it in the front of my Mentor binder where I know I'll be referring to it a regular basis. I also didn't provide a lot of links to forms and templates that are readily downloadable from Lipton, such as the various types of reflection journals. I did include some of the goal-setting documents to provide a sort of road map for the process itself.

    Because of time restraints and other professional responsibilities, my e-portfolio is not as comprehensive as I would like it to be but  I think it is a good start. I certainly plan to add to it as I learn more and gain experience with mentoring. I'm sure the need for some additions will become clear as I move forward. With that in mind, I am hoping that the class links and google site will remain available for some time to come.
